Review: Shade's Lady

Shade's Lady Shade's Lady by Joanna Wylde
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

New review after reread:

I've lost count of how many times I've read this book. With every re-read, I'm left with the same fervent wish: that it were longer than a novella. Just imagine an expanded version, it would have been the ultimate, brilliantly savage romance, layered with all the nuanced tension we crave. What an absolute joy it is to find a love story this captivating.

Original review:

Thank you Joanna Wylde for taking me back to the start of my obsession with Bikers and the MC world. This was freaking amazing and it surpassed some of your books even if it was simple a novella.

Excellent book.

Excellent story

Excellent characters

And excellent everything.

I mean shit, this book had my heart jumping ropes and loving every single second of it. I loved it to bits. What else can I say…? I fell in love with the first paragraph. This book took me back in time to the one of the very first mc’s books I read and it just got me hooked again. This book has become like a drug I had let go and then tried again. And then realized that fuck the world this drug is my life and I cannot be without it.

Marvelous.

Thank you very much Joanna for this, I needed it so very much and though it was a novella it did not feel like it was that. It felt like I was reading a complete novel. It was soo good.

If you are looking a MC book to read then look no further than this book as it will capture you wholly.

Shade and Mandy, the two of you were perfect together. I mean seriously perfect. Shade you loved her exactly how I wanted you to and exactly how it ought to be done and Mandy you loved him sweetly.

I fucking recommend.

Review: Knight

Knight Knight by Kristen Ashley
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Old review:
3.5 stars
Let me just say that whatever i had against KA book is slowing melting away. I'm astounded that i am actually liking her books now...so thank you force of nature for forcing me to read her.
This was a good read though i certainly wish he was not so alpha, to be noted i am not complaining so thank you Kristen for a good book

New Review (After Reread):
On this rereading of Knight, I still enjoyed the romance and found myself appreciating Knight and Anya’s relationship even more. The intensity and protective alpha energy are very “KA” and still not entirely my style, but I can see why so many readers adore it. The pacing held up, the emotional beats landed, and while it won’t be my favorite KA book, it’s one I’m glad I revisited.

Review: Night's Fall

Night's Fall Night's Fall by Kristen Ashley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I just finished Night’s Fall by Kristen Ashley, and honestly, it was such a delightful ride. A few pages in, I was already laughing, grinning at the banter, and fully invested in the tension between the characters. The events unfolded in that signature Kristen Ashley way, full of energy, chemistry, and a touch of unpredictability. I really enjoyed it.

Laura and Aleksei made a great couple. Their dynamic worked. There was that mix of spark, conflict, and tenderness that kept me turning the pages. Watching their relationship build was satisfying, and I found myself rooting for them right from the start. Kristen Ashley really knows how to write romantic tension that feels alive, and she did not disappoint here.

Beyond the main romance, there were some side characters who completely caught my attention....especially Cat and Gayle. I’m genuinely excited to read their stories next. Cat has the potential for such a vibrant, engaging arc, and Gayle… well, Gayle is exactly my kind of character. I have a soft spot for a yearning man, and from what we’ve seen so far, his story could be absolutely delicious.

That said, while I loved the read overall, I do think the world-building could have been stronger. At times, it felt slightly chaotic. Like too many things were happening all at once without enough grounding. The different threads sometimes competed for attention rather than coming together seamlessly, and I would have appreciated a bit more focus or clarity in how the setting and lore were developed.

Still, despite that, Night’s Fall was a fun, engaging book that gave me plenty of moments to smile about. The characters pulled me in, the romance worked beautifully, and I’m already looking forward to diving into the rest of the series.

Mountain of Bones 1

1

Three weeks since I’d buried my dagger in the king’s heart, and the world still smelled of his rotting reign.

Kalith Village, a small village in the outskirts of the kingdom buzzed like flies on a corpse. And in the Rusty Hinge inn, men toasted the king’s demise with ale thick enough to drown their own sins. Others, the ones who’d profited from his cruelty, drank in silence, their knuckles white around their cups. Most didn’t care. A dead king was just another corpse.

But I cared.

Because the bastard had laughed as he died.

And the "his" location was still unknown to me.

Review: Deviant King

Deviant King Deviant King by Rina Kent
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

I tried. I really did but I just could not. Every page I opened did not do it for me. I ended giving up. I could not finish...maybe will try some other time. But this January 2020, I did not like it one bit. A DNF

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

now I'm onto the next.wow..Rhage n Mary

"Rhage and Mary....I can't wait to see you on the big screen!"

Rereading Lover Eternal in 2025 was like slipping into a favorite old sweater....warm, comforting, and exactly what my soul needed. There’s something magical about revisiting Rhage and Mary’s story; their love is fire and devotion, chaos and healing, all wrapped up in that fierce BDB passion we adore. And oh, that dragon? Still gives me chills.

Review: Dark Lover

Dark Lover Dark Lover by J.R. Ward
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I first read this book in 2013, and I got so completely lost in it that now, 13 years later, I’m diving back in. Of course, I’ve revisited it many times over the years, but this reread has made me realize just how masterfully J.R. Ward pulled me into her world. Wrath, "the King," and Beth... I adore them so much. And thanks to the Passionflix adaptation, I’ve been drawn back into their story all over again.

Review: The Curse that Binds

The Curse that Binds The Curse that Binds by Laura Thalassa
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I started writing this review before even finishing the book—no idea why, but here we are.

Is it a good book? Yes, absolutely.
Am I enjoying it? So far, so good!
Do I love the characters? Memnon and Roxi are wonderful, even though his name is a bit of a mouthful (how do you even pronounce it?).

Review: The Gift

The Gift The Gift by Julie Garwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh, my heart!

I read this book so long ago when I was young, and all I can say is...I loved it then, and I still love it now. It just hit me that The Gift by Julie Garwood was published in 1991, and yet here I am, still rereading it in 2025, more than three decades later. That just goes to show how a truly great book never loses its magic.

Mountain of Bones: Prologue

Killing the king was never supposed to be this easy.

But the stars must have aligned in my favor tonight, because here I stood, my gaze locked with his one remaining eye burning with defiance as he clutched the wound in his side. The scent of iron and magic hung thick in the air, the castle’s ancient stones humming with forgotten power.

My madness had finally caught up to me.

I stepped closer, my boots silent against the bloodstained marble. The hatred in his stare was bright, but the ache in my chest was greater.

"I know they trained you never to answer me," I whispered, my voice raw. "But for once in your wretched life, forget your pride. Tell me what I need to know."

He laughed, a wet, broken sound. "You’ll kill me regardless."

The Black Dagger Brotherhood TV Adaptation—A Perfect Book-to-Screen Translation!

I’ve been a fan of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series for years, so when I heard it was being adapted for TV, I was equal parts excited and nervous. Let’s be honest, most book-to-screen adaptations take way too many liberties, leaving fans disappointed. But after watching the first episode of Passionflix’s version? I’m obsessed.

This is exactly what we book lovers want to see. A faithful, scene-for-scene, tone-perfect adaptation. No unnecessary changes, no straying from the source material, just the Brotherhood brought to life exactly as J.R. Ward wrote them. Thank you, Passionflix, for getting it right!

If you’re a fan of the books, this is a must-watch. And if you’re new to the BDB world? Buckle up.....you’re in for an intense, romantic, vamp-fueled ride.

Now, who else is counting down until the next episode?

(Also, time to re-read Dark Lover… again.) 🔥🗡️

Why after three weeks am I still obsessed with Direbound by Sable Sorensen

Why I’m Still Obsessed with Direbound (24 Days Later)

Let me tell you a little story. It’s about a girl (me) who picked up a book on a whim and accidentally stumbled into a world she can’t stop thinking about.

I read Direbound just once. One time. But even after 24 whole days, I’m still completely, utterly obsessed. You’d think the feeling would fade, right? That the characters would slip quietly into the background of my mind like most do after I finish a book. But nope. These characters, this story, this world, they’ve taken up permanent residence in my head and heart. I find myself thinking about scenes randomly throughout the day, and silently screaming for book 2.

Review: Guardian Angel

Guardian Angel Guardian Angel by Julie Garwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"Oh my heart—my sweet, precious obsession!

I’m so glad I decided to revisit this series because diving back in has been like reuniting with old friends. All those little moments I adored the first time—the inside jokes, the whispered confessions, the heart-stopping twists—came rushing back, and somehow, I fell in love all over again.

Review: Chicago 4 Paris

Chicago 4 Paris Chicago 4 Paris by Barbara Ann Cerda
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I really wanted to love this book—the premise intrigued me, and I was excited to dive in. Not to mention, the cover is absolutely gorgeous! It’s a shame the inside didn’t captivate me the same way the outside did.

But despite multiple attempts, I just couldn’t connect with it. Whether it was the pacing, the writing style,

Life is sweet, and reading is golden.

I just came from reading a review, and in that review, I made a kind of covenant—to never read book blurbs or descriptions. And let me tell you, that review was written in 2017, and today? I still stand by it.

You want me to read a book? Just tell me the genre—that’s enough. I’m not reading any book description or blurb, no way. They just give me expectations the book won’t live up to.

Hahaha! Anyway, it’s 2025, life is sweet, and reading is golden.

Review: The Lion's Lady

The Lion's Lady The Lion's Lady by Julie Garwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Julie Garwood is one of my favorite authors. I have read all her books and taking the time to reread this classic was a move in the right direction.

The first time I ever read this book was over fifteen years ago. It seems just like yesterday when I was introduced to Lyon and Christin yet here I am years later reliving a love story well told. Oh to be surrounded by love.

Christina and Lyon’s story was what I remembered it to be. Sweet, perfectly paced and remarkably well written.  I am glad I got the chance to reread this story and still fall in love with the characters as well as smile, and laugh.

Review: Direbound

Direbound Direbound by Sable Sorensen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

why did it have to end? loved it

Direbound is hands down my first 5-star read of the year. An absolute class of fantasy, romance, and heart-pounding adventure. Sable Sorrenson crafted a world so vivid and characters so compelling that I never wanted to leave. The chemistry, the stakes, the emotional twists, everything about this book had me hooked from the first page.

And that ending?! Pure agony (in the best way). I’m already counting down the days until the next installment. If you love immersive fantasy with fierce heroines, swoon-worthy tension, and a plot that refuses to let you go, Direbound is a must-read. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Now hurry up with the sequel!
